3 DAYS CITY BREAK IN SIBIU TOUR ITINERARY:

Day 1 - Bucharest - Sinaia - Bran - Brasov - Sibiu
(Dinner included)
After meet with our staff, we will depart for Sibiu. Sibiu is perceived as a city of art and culture. A great number of cultural monuments, a diversity of museums, and various artistic and cultural events, make up the pillars of a complex cultural profile. Using this simple premise, an attractive and stimulating atmosphere has been created for residents and visitors who take the opportunity to experience cultural life in this Transylvanian city.

During our journey, we will visit Sinaia Monastery which was founded by Prince Mihai Cantacuzino in 1695 and named after the great Sinai Monastery on Mount Sinai. As of 2005 it is inhabited by 13 Christian Orthodox monks led by hegumen Macarie Bogus. It belongs to the archdiocese of Bucharest.

Then we will visit Peles Castle where is a Neo-Renaissance castle placed in an idyllic setting in the Carpathian Mountains, and built between 1873 and 1914; its inauguration was held in 1883. And Draculas Caste in Bran, it is a national monument and landmark in Romania. The fortress is situated on the border between Transylvania and Wallachia. The castle is now a museum open to tourists

Then we will visit the Black Church of Brasov was built by the German inhabitants Brasov and represents the most important Gothic style monument of Romania. The Black Church is still the largest Lutheran (Evangelical) Church in Transylvania.

Also we will have a visit in Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas. Inside you will find a site under development for the spread of Gods word through his Holy Orthodox Church. St. Nicholas Cathedral is a fine example of the encompassing nature of Orthodoxy. Upon arrival at in Sibiu, transfer and check in to your hotel. Dinner and overnight in Sibiu.

Day 2 - Sibiu

After breakfast, prepare yourself to have the sightseeing tour with Turkey Travel Bazaar. We will visit The Big Square which is the historic center of Sibiu, first time mentioned in 1411 as corn market. The public executions and public meetings used to be held here. Here is the best shown the city eyes the windows from the roofs. The southern side of the square is declared architectural monument with preserved.

The Small Square is the second largest historic place of Sibiu and one of the most beautiful square in town. This square is a magnificent place surrounded by preserved medieval building. Also The Huet Square is surrounded by historic buildings built in gothic style. The square is dominated by the Evangelic Church.

After Turkey Travel Bazaar will guide you to visit The Upper Town is considered the historic part of the city that was enclosed by the third belt of fortifications. The Lower town had been developed around the first town fortifications and here you can find the oldest streets in Sibiu

The Liars Bridge is the first iron-cast bridge in Romania built in 1859 over the way of acces that connects the upper town to the lower town, opened in 1851. And The Fortress is the most of the remaining parts of the old City Walls and Towers can be seen on the East side of the town along the Coposu Avenue and Manejului Street. On Cetatii Street there are three remaining towers from the third belt of fortifications.

Stairs Tower is one of the oldest building in Sibiu, is raised on the foundation of the oldest element preserved from the first fortifications around the church existing here at the end of the 12-th century. The present tower is dated from 1542. The Arts House is one of the most beautiful buildings in Sibiu and one of citys symbols. The Arts House, is the Old Butchers house built in 15th century and designed for shops, dominates the square with its silhouette with eight arches at the ground floor. Now hosts the Emil Sigerus Museum

Follow with Turkey Travel Bazaar, we will visit the Brukenthal Museum which housed by the Brukenthal Palace at Sibiu, it is the oldest museum in Romania (1817); it gathers together 14, 000 exhibits, i. e. paintings, engravings, sculpture and decorative art works; 1, 100 works belong to the Section of European Art Collections including the main schools of art between the 15th -18th centuries, with works of well-known painters. And ASTRA Traditional Folk Civilization Museum which is the largest Open-Air museum in Europe situated in a magnificen landscape.

Before we back to your hotel, we will visit The Evangelic Church. This impressive cathedral was built in 1520 on the place of an old Romanic basilica from the 12th century. With five pointed towers it is one of the most impressive buildings in Sibiu, the tower is nearly 74 m high, the tallest building in Transylvania. And The Catholic Church which was built between 1726 and 1733 in a baroque style with classic decorations. The tower was attached to the nave in 1738 and one year later a cross was seated on the top. Dinner and overnight in Sibiu.

Day 3 - Sibiu - Cozia Monastery - Bucharest

Today we will return back to Bucharest. On our way back, we will stop for a visit to Cozia Monastery. Known as the oldest and most complex historical and art monuments from Romania, Cozia Monastery is situated on the right bank of the river Olt. It was built between 1386-1388, being one of the most important foundations of the ruler Mircea cel Batran (Mircea the Ancient). Initially, it was known under the name of Nucet Monastery, because it was built in an area proper for walnut trees to grow. The name of Cozia was given to it later, after the name of the mountain in its vicinity.

In the pronaos you can see the tombs of Mircea and of the nun Teofana, Michael the Braves mother, who became a nun after her sons death. She eventually died in 1605.
The old Cozia (the stony hermitage-this is the name the ruins of a former church, whose walls could be seen until 1986 on the valley of the river Olt) is situated 1km away from the monastery, having John, the Baptist as its celebration day. It is believed that it would be Radus foundation, built at the end of the 13th century and at the beginning of the 14th century. (Radu is Mirceas father).
