Mevlane Museum & Sille Aya Helene Church Tour from Istanbul by Plane

08:15 You will arrive in Konya Airport then our staff will be waiting at the Konya Airport with name sign. You will be picked up and dirve to Konya. The tour starts by visiting, Mevlana Museum, where is located in Konya City Center. Today, it is the mausoleum of Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi, a Sufi mystic also known as Mevlâna or Rumi. It was also the dervish lodge (tekke) of the Mevlevi order, better known as the Whirling Dervishes.You will visit all available section in Mevlana Museum such as Matbah (Kitchen), tombs, Tilavet Chamber (Quran Reading And Chanting), Semâ-Hâne (Ritual Hall). After visiting continue the tour by visiting Selimiye Mosque is located next door to Mevlana Museum. The mosque was commissioned by, and named for, Sultan Selim II (1566-74) in the Ottoman style. Construction began in 1558 when Selim was still a prince and was completed shortly after he became sultan, in 1567. Afterwards, you will have lunch in an authentic restaurant. After having lunch you will do Panaromic Meram tour. Then drive to Sille Aya Helena Church. The church has been constructed with smoothly cut Sille stone. There are rooms carved into rocks in its courtyard. The external nartex is entered from the door of the church opening towards north.  327 years A.D, mother of Byzantine Emperor Helena has stopped at Konya while going to Jerusalem for pilgrimage and seen the carved temples belonging to the first periods of Christianity and decided to have a temple built in Sille for the Christians. She has been present in the base laying ceremony of this temple, on behalf of Mihail Arkhankolos. The church has been repaired for centuries and reached today. A Turkish repair inscription written on the internal structure of the church with Greek letters provides information relating to the history of the church.

At the end of the tour, drive back to Konya Airport
