The Bosphorus
The lenght of the Bosphorus which separates the continents of Asia and Europe, is thirty kilometers. The distance between the Anatoian Lighthouse and the Maindens Tower is about thirty - five kiloveters.
The bosphorus is a flower, of not only our country also the whole world with its history, geography and culture of thousands of years.
It is a center of attraction visited by resedents of Istanbul as well as people from all over the world.
The Bosphorus
This strait connects the Black Sea to the Marmara Sea. It length is 30 kilometers. Considering its irregular shoreline, the length of the shores can be calculated at 55 kilometers, starting from the Rumelia Lighthouse in Rumelia to the Ahırkapı Lighthouse on the shores of the Golden Horn. It is 35 kilometers long from the Anatoilan Lighthouse to the Maindens Tower on the Anatoian side and 36 kilometers long to Kayak Bay in front of the Selimiye. The width of the Bosphorus is 3600 meters between the Anatolian Lighthouses and the Rumelia Lighthouse and 760 meters between Anadoluhisarı and Rumelihisarı. The deepest point of the Bosphorus is 120 meters. There are currents from the Black Sea to the Marmara Sea on the surface and from the Marmara to the Black Sea below the sea surface. Somtimes reverse currents may also be observed on the surface. Thedistrics of Üsküdar, Beylerbeyi, Çengelköy, Anadoluhisarı, Kanlıca, Paşabahçe, Beykoz, Anadolu Kavağı on the Anatolian side and Beşiktas, Ortaköyy, Arnavutköy, Rumelihisarı, Emirğan, Istinye, Sarıyer and Rumeli Kavağı on the European side embellish the their distinct historical riches legendary historias and natural beauty. To starts from the European side, Beşiktas was also a reputable district in all periods of the Ottoman Empire. Çırağan, Dolmabahçe, Yıldız, Feriye Palaces, Ihlamur and Hıdive Summar Palaces as well as Naime Sultan and Esma Sultan Waterside residences are important achitectural structures.
Ortoköy, Mecidiyeköy, dolmabehçe and Yıldız Mosque as well as ayios Haralambos and Profitis İlias Churches from the Byzanitne Era are important religious structures of the Distircts. Yıldız Park is an important green site of Istanbul with beautiful mansions.
