Sample Istanbul Private Classical Tour Itinerary: Blue Mosque (Turkish: Sultanahmet Camii): One of the biggest mosques of Istanbul from 17th century architecture is one of the principal adornments on the skyline of Istanbul. Also famous for its blue tiles and 6 minarest.
Islamic Art Museum (Turkish: Islam Eserleri Müzesi): This first museum encompassing both Turkish and Islamic artifacts was established within the organizational structure of the Suleymaniye Kulliya (which means cultural and religious complex) in 1914. The museum was moved to Ibrahim Pasha Palace, which was built in the 16th century, in 1983. Ibrahim Pasha, Greek by birth, was the childhood friend and first Grand vizier of Suleyman the Magnificent. Ibrahim Pasha, who married Suleyman's sister, was the first of a chain of "bridegroom" administrators, a system that was traditionalized later during the Ottoman Empire.
Topkapi Palace Museum (Turkish: Topkapi Sarayı): The Topkapi Palace is the biggest and one of the most popular sites to visit in Istanbul. It was built in between 1466 and 1478 by the sultan Mehmet II on top of a hill in a small peninsula, dominating the Golden Horn to the north, the Sea of Marmara to the south, and the Bosphorus strait to the north east, with great views of the Asian side as well. The palace was the political center of the Ottoman Empire between the 15th and 19th centuries, until they built Dolmabahce Palace by the waterside. | ||||
