Anzac Cove is a small cove on the Gallipoli peninsula. It became famous as the landing site and main base of Anzac’s during the World War I in 1915. The Lone pine with its sweeping views over the Aegean and down the Gallipoli peninsula, Turks and Australians lived, fought and died. The Lone Pine was the name given to a solitary tree marked the site of the Battle of Lone Pine. There is a cemtery and Memorial at dedicated to to the Australian & New Zealand soldiers who fought in Gallipoli. Chunuk Bair Heights is one of the three high points on the Sari Bair range. These were the main objectives of the Anzacs' offensive of early August 1915 when they tried to break out of the stalemate with the Turks in the Anzac sector.
